This is from the desk of Michael Atkinson from his FOBOH post
Hi all,

Well according to my research and discussions with senior executives across the U.S., the top seven issues facing the restaurant industry (in no particular order) are:

1. Threat of unionization with help from the Employee Free Choice Act or the Card Check Program

2. Healthcare Reform including paid sick leave

3. Food Safety

4. Menu labeling of nutrition information

5. Employee turnover costs

6. Labor and commodity costs, basically Prime costs

7. U.S Economy and generally, just getting people in their restaurants

Let me suggest that FohBoh community members start and moderate each one of these discussions and ensure it is circulated inside and outside of FohBoh. The more we dialog these pain points, the better.

Cheers!

Hi Bill Joyce here. Been marketing online for about 8 years. In the last 3 or so I have been working with the offline" market. Back in the old days, (I mean OLD) we used to call it Sales. Anyway I have been in the Oil Business in Lafayette, LA and of more recent note, the restaurant business.
